I wanted to share some of Shelby's barn stuff. When she, her parents and her first husband Cody, were living in Sheridan I went up to help her clean the barn. She had young horses in the arena with saddles on them, some snubbed in the barn. It was hot and the fly's were insane. Normal stuff. Shelby walked around with her fly swater killing only the flies that looked like they were mating. We laughed so hard we nearly wet ourselves. Two adult women, with a warped sense of fly control. Something only, the Shelby could come up with. Shelby was an inspiration to my daughter Mik. Mik was only five, and Shelby is her idol. Now, fourteen, Mikki is a Top Ten Elite rider and following Shelby into the NBHA in the Jr. Division. She touched many lives, made many friends, many memories, made the most mundane task the funniest thing, one could do. Like her dad said, she was more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I look at my charm bracelet and I always think of Shelby JO. Super dork. You're a bright star in our sky!

I just wanted to let you know that I am so relieved you and your dad are together again. He told Cailin and I last summer that you were the light of his life and that he didn't want to go on without you. Now he doesn't have to. You two are together and that makes me so happy for you both. I have prayed for your whole family, and will continue to pray for your mom and sister. I hope they are comforted in knowing that you are with your dad. The night before your father's passing, I prayed to God that he would end his suffering and let you two be together. He answered my prayers as he always has. I love you Shelb and I have always had the utmost respect for your father. Just Thank God you two are together for eternity now. My friend, I will see you again some day...

I am so glad that the family will not have to go through the pain of what the trial would have brought .And yes we all so miss Shelby but I can picture her in heaven having a blast

I don't know if anyone checks this site anymore, I know I haven't in over a year but I wanted to pass along the information that Shelby's estranged husband confessed and was convicted of first degree murder just yesterday sparing us of having to go through the trial next month. We're so relieved this part of the ordeal is over. Sentencing will be Nov 3rd in Yerington but we already know he'll get 30 years before he's eligible for parole. 30 years to sit and think about what he did and the beautiful person he took from us. Thank you all for such a wonderful site and all your wonderful words. Shelby IS an amazing person, we miss her physical presence everyday but know she's up in Heaven having a ball and making everyone up there laugh just like she did here!
